Lessons & Training

Steve Schaefer, Owner and Trainer

Steve has enjoyed teaching and training horses and riders since 1989. His students successfully compete in the hunter, jumper and equitation rings in top shows all over the country. A typical horse show day can find him anywhere from the Short Stirrup to the Grand Prix ring. When not showing, home is a beautiful new facility in Maple Park where he and his wife, India, house their many happy boarders and quality horses.

Grand Prix

As for his own riding, Steve has been consistently at the top in the Grand Prix ring throughout the Midwest and Colorado. In 2003 he won back to back Welcome Stakes and Grand Prixs at Lamplight. Last year brought wins at both the Horse Show By the Bay Grand Prix and Circle City Welcome Stakes on Winchester and this year he led the victory gallop on Pantera, owned by Serosen Farms, in the Welcome Stakes at both Equifest I and Showplace Summertime. He has always been very successful in Florida in the Thursday and Sunday World Cup Qualifiers.
